Meet Your Presenter

Sarah Powell, PhD

Dr. Sarah Powell is a Professor in the College of Education at The University of Texas at Austin. A former kindergarten teacher turned researcher, Sarah understands firsthand the real classroom challenges educators face.

She earned her Ph.D. in 2009 under the guidance of Dr. Lynn Fuchs, one of the nation’s leading researchers in special education and math instruction. Her passion lies in helping teachers and students feel more successful, especially those who have struggled with math in the past.
